Endocrine (Hormone) Lab Tests

Endocrine Lab Tests are those tests that are used to find imbalances in the endocrine system. The endocrine system is an integrated network that consists of various glands located throughout the body. Together with the nervous system, the endocrine system controls and regulates many internal bodily functions.

Hormones are produced, stored, and secreted by the network of glands. When hormones are released by the endocrine glands into the bloodstream, they target specific cells, tissues, or organs.

While the nervous system uses nerve impulses as a means of control, the endocrine system uses chemical messenger molecules called hormones.

Several of our lab partners perform Endocrine (Hormone) Lab Tests. Please refer to the About the Labs We Utilize section of the website for links to all of our lab partners and a full list of tests performed by each lab.

For sample reports of some of the lab tests we order please see the links below.

Adrenal Stress Index - DiagnosTechs

The Adrenal Stress Index Test is a powerful and precise non-invasive test that evaluates levels of the body's important stress hormones, cortisol and DHEA. This profile serves as a critical tool for uncovering biochemical imbalances that can underlie anxiety, chronic fatigue, obesity, diabetes and a host of other clinical conditions. It's also a crucial tool for monitoring DHEA and/or cortisone therapy.

Changing amounts of DHEA and cortisol over an individual's lifetime may signal important alterations in adrenal function that can profoundly affect his/her energy levels, emotional state, disease resistance, and general sense of well-being. That's because adrenal hormones exert a profound influence on the body's carbohydrate, protein, and lipid metabolism, immune response, thyroid function, cardiovascular health, and overall resistance to stress.

Comprehensive Hormone Profile - Doctors Data

The Comprehensive Hormone Profile is the best option for baseline testing of male or female hormonal status. This non-invasive test requires only 2cc per vial of saliva in 4 separate collections. Sex hormones are tested, as well as 4 cortisol levels to evaluate the diurnal cortisol pattern. This test is a consideration in men and women concerned with changing hormone levels as a result of age, cycling women experiencing PMS, peri- and post-menopausal women concerned with their estradiol and progesterone levels for replacement considerations, and anyone with symptoms involving fatigue, insomnia, stress, immunity problems, blood sugar problems, and obesity.

Male Hormones Plus - Genova Diagnostics

The Male Hormones Plus test is a noninvasive salivary assessment of bioavailable testosterone in circadian rhythm.

In addition to analysis of testosterone, the Male Hormones Plus test includes the Adrenocortex Stress Profile and the Comprehensive Melatonin Profile to reveal how testosterone is influenced by cortisol, DHEA, and melatonin.
