Lyme Tests and Lyme Test Panels
Also known as tick borne borreliosis or Lyme arthritis, Lyme disease is caused by the bacteria Borrelia Burgdorferi (Bb), which was originally thought to be transmitted only by the Ixodes tick. In addition to ticks, Bb may be carried and transmitted by fleas, mosquitoes, and mites. Lyme disease has been called the New Great Imitator because, like syphilis, it attacks multiple organ systems and mimics many diseases.
Testing for Lyme Disease is complicated and few doctors are trained in knowing what tests to order. Because of this many people have Lyme Disease and have never been diagnosed properly. We have an extensive array of tests and the knowledge to go with this knowledge to properly make a diagnosis of Lyme Disease.
Several of our lab partners test for Lyme disease. Please refer to the About the Labs We Utilize section of the website for links to all of our lab partners and a full list of tests performed by each lab.
Also see the Lab Tests by Type of Disease Process or Vector section for more information.
For sample reports of some of the lab tests we order please see the links below.

Bartonella Antibody Panel - LabCorp
The Bartonella Antibody Panel blood test screens for exposure to B. henselae (Bartonella henselae), the bacteria that cause cat scratch disease. These bacteria are spread by cats, especially kittens, which are more likely to be infected. The disease is often fairly mild and clears up without treatment..
