Since I began using CRA in my practice, I rarely use x-rays as a diagnostic method. Yes, they do help show what a person's body has been through the years, but x-rays in themselves do not change my approach in treating the patient. Don't get me wrong, there are times when a person does need imaging to determine if a disease process has "gone too far" and if other medical procedures are needed.
But my feeling is that they're used excessively as are many other diagnositic procedures. In fact, it's the overutilization of diagnostic procedures that cost you, the consumer, more money to receive health care.
