The thyroid gland is the primary backup to the heart. It is responsible for seventy percent of the control of the rhythm and speed of the heart. All the power that your heart needs to make electricity is fed to the heart via the hormones of the thyroid gland. The hemoglobin picks up the thyroxin and delivers it to the heart muscles via the coronary blood vessels, where it is ignited and made into electricity.
The adrenal glands act as a second heart. They are responsible for helping the heart return all the blood and lymphatic fluids from the extremities back to the center of the body. They are a powerful backup to the thyroid. If the thyroid and brain cannot keep up with the body's demands, the adrenal glands will take over.
