secretion, vasoconstriction, or peristalsis) and that consists of the
SYMPATHETIC NERVOUS SYSTEM
and the PARASYMPATHETIC NERVOUS SYSTEM — called also vegetative
nervous system ; compare CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM.
