glutamic acid
What is it?
One of the NONESSENTIAL AMINO ACIDS. What few people realize is that glutamic acid is a component of FOLIC ACID, a B vitamin the body uses to break down amino acids. Or that one of its salts is MONOSODIUM GLUTAMATE.

It is also involved in the synthesis of DNA and glutathione. It helps remove excess ammonia from the body. Interconverted by the body into glutamic acid and gamma-amino-butyric acid (GABA).
