In approximately 20% of cases, conservative care does not effectively handle patients with low back and neck pain. It is in these small percentage of cases these patients will benefit from surgery.
As with any other endeavor it's extremely important that you understand your options regarding surgery. It's also very important that you find the best surgeon you can.

successful. Worse than this is the heavy disability that a permanent back problem carries with our regular daily
activities.
We therefore highly recommend that you do your "home-work" before jumping into surgery. We present all of this information in the following articles.
