Inositol is a vitamin linked to the reduction of cholesterol in the blood stream. It 's functions include metabolizing fats and cholesterol, forming lecithin, aiding hair growth, reducing the potential for hardening of the arteries and removing fat from the liver.
Inositol is found readily in brewers yeast, lecithin, molasses vegetables and whole grains. Caffeine lowers the amount of Inositol in the body.
Choline and inositol, members of the B-complex, are both found inside our bodies' cell walls. Choline and Inositol are usually paired, like "ham and eggs", both existing together in lecithin. They are usually only separated from the total B complex in order to achieve a lipotropic formula i.e. to remove fats.
