Apples

Ever since it first appeared in the Garden of Eden, the apple has played a role in mythological traditions. The apple also appears in art as a symbol of love. Sir Isaac Newton formulated the Law of Gravity after an apple thumped him on the head. In American folklore, Johnny Appleseed firmly established the apple as a basic part of American national identity. It is now as American as apple pie.
