A new study shows that heart and blood vessel damage helps bring on low back pain. In another somewhat surprising finding, wearing a weightlifting support belt for heavy lifting jobs does not reduce incidence of back injury claims or low back pain. For common back strain, long bed rest can hinder recovery: only 1 or 2 days of total rest is recommended.
