§331.12.2. Curriculum.
All applicants for licensure shall be required to comply with this section in order to qualify for a California chiropractic license.
(a) Course of Study: Every school shall have a curriculum which indicates objectives, content and methods of instruction for each subject offered.
(b) Required Hours and Subjects: Each applicant shall offer proof of completion of a course of instruction in a Board-approved chiropractic college of not less than 4,400 hours which includes minimum educational requirements set forth in Section 5 of the Act. The course of instruction completed by the applicant shall consist of no less than the following minimum hours, except as otherwise provided:
Group I  Anatomy, including embryology, histology and human dissection 616 hours
Group II  Physiology (must include laboratory work) 264 hours
Group III  Biochemistry, clinical nutrition, and dietetics 264 hours
Group IV  Pathology, bacteriology, and toxicology 440 hours

12-33-111. Licensure- minimun education requirements. Chapter 372 Chiropractic

Section 20-27. License.
(b) Examination.  Qualifications.  No person shall receive a license until he has passed an examination prescribed by the Department of Public Health, with the advice and consent of the Board of Chiropractic Examiners, except as hereinafter provided. Any person desiring to practice chiropracticshall make application to the department upon such form as the department adopts. Applications shall be in writing, signed by the applicant and shall contain a statement of the educational advantages of the applicant, his experience in matters pertaining to a knowledge of the care of the sick, the length of time applied and the school in which he studied chiropractic, any collateral branch of study and the length of time engaged in clinical practice and any diploma, certificate or degree which has been conferred upon such applicant. Each applicant shall present to the department satisfactory evidence that he graduated from an approved high school or possessed educational qualifications equivalent to those required for graduation from such school before beginning the study of chiropractic and that he graduated with the degree of doctor of chiropractic from an accredited college of chiropractic approved by said board with the consent of the Commissioner of Public Health, as provided herein, that, if he graduated prior to July 1, 1932, he has been a resident student in such an approved chiropractic college or colleges during three graded courses of six months each, each of which courses shall have included not less than nine hundred class hours, that, if he graduated after July 1, 1932, he has been a resident student in such an approved chiropractic college or colleges during four graded courses of eight months each, totaling not less than three thousand six hundred hours, and that, if he graduated after July 1, 1955, he has been a resident student in such an approved chiropractic college or colleges during four graded courses of eight months each, totaling not less than four thousand hours. On and after July 1, 1960, each applicant shall present to said department satisfactory evidence that before beginning the study of chiropractic he has completed at least two academic years or sixty semester hours of study leading to a baccalaureate degree in a college or university approved by said board with the consent of the Commissioner of Public Health. Said department shall issue a license to each applicant who passes the examination and who has met all other requirements of this chapter and any regulations adopted hereunder. There shall be paid to the department by each applicant a fee of four hundred fifty dollars. The examination shall be administered by the Department of Public Health under the supervision of the board. Passing scores shall be established by the department with the consent of the board.

460.406 Licensure by examination
(1)  Any person desiring to be licensed as a chiropractic physician shall apply to the department to take the licensure examination. There shall be an application fee set by the board not to exceed $100 which shall be nonrefundable. There shall also be an examination fee not to exceed $500 plus the actual per applicant cost to the department for purchase of portions of the examination from the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners or a similar national organization, which may be refundable if the applicant is found ineligible to take the examination. The department shall examine each applicant who the board certifies has:
(a)  Completed the application form and remitted the appropriate fee.
(b)  Submitted proof satisfactory to the department that he or she is not less than 18 years of age. (c)  Submitted proof satisfactory to the department that he or she is a graduate of a chiropractic college which is accredited by or has status with the Council on Chiropractic Education or its predecessor agency. However, any applicant who is a graduate of a chiropractic college that was initially accredited by the Council on Chiropractic Education in 1995, who graduated from such college within the 4 years immediately preceding such accreditation, and who is otherwise qualified shall be eligible to take the examination. No application for a license to practice chiropractic medicine shall be denied solely because the applicant is a graduate of a chiropractic college that subscribes to one philosophy of chiropractic medicine as distinguished from another.

(a) A person who is at least eighteen (18) years of age and who has not been convicted of a crime that has a direct bearing on the person's ability to practice competently is eligible to be licensed to practice chiropractic in Indiana if the person is a graduate of an incorporated chiropractic school or college incorporated for the purpose of teaching the science of chiropractic. The school or college must meet the reasonable requirements of the board and must be accredited by the Accreditation Commission of the Council on Chiropractic Education during the applicant's attendance at the accredited school or college. The board may not discriminate against a chiropractic school or college that meets these requirements.

Section 151.3  License.
Every applicant for a license to practice chiropractic shall:
1.  Present satisfactory evidence that the applicant possesses a preliminary education equal to the requirements for graduation from an accredited high school or other secondary school.
2.  Present a diploma issued by a college of chiropractic approved by the chiropractic examiners.

Section 151.4  Approved college.
No college of chiropractic shall be approved by the chiropractic examiners as a college of recognized standing unless said college:
1.  Requires for graduation or for the receipt of any chiropractic degree the completion of a course of study covering a period of four academic years totaling not less than four thousand sixty-minute hours in actual resident attendance.
2.  Gives an adequate course of study in the subjects enumerated in subsection 3 of section 151.3 and including practical clinical instruction.
3.  Publishes in a regularly issued catalogue the requirements for graduation and degrees as herein specified.
An approved college of chiropractic may include but is not limited to offerings of courses of study in procedures for withdrawing a patient's blood, performing or utilizing laboratory tests, and performing physical examinations for diagnostic purposes. A chiropractor, employed by an approved college of chiropractic and who has been trained to withdraw blood may withdraw blood and instruct, and supervise a student in the withdrawing of blood.

If the baccalaureate degree is granted by a chiropractic school or college, at least 90 semester hours applicable to the baccalaureate degree shall be earned at an accredited school or college, with none of these hours applying to the doctor of chiropractic degree. For purposes of this subsection, an “accredited school or college” shall meet the standards for accreditation of the north central association of colleges and schools or its regional equivalent, as in effect July 1, 1999, which are hereby adopted by reference.

Each applicant shall have satisfactorily completed not less than sixty (60) semester credit hours of study from a college or university accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Universities or an accrediting agency recognized by the Southern Association of Colleges and Universities or any successor to the powers of either and is a graduate of an accredited chiropractic college accredited by the Council on Chiropractic Education or their successors, and which maintains a standard and reputability approved by the board.

B.(1) The board shall license as a chiropractor and issue an appropriate certificate to any person who files with it a verified application therefor, accompanied by such fee as is required by R.S. 37:2809, together with evidence, verified by oath and satisfactory to the board, that the applicant:

(e)(i) Has graduated from a chiropractic school or college that at the time of graduation therefrom has recognized candidate status for accreditation or is accredited by the Council on Chiropractic Education or the foreign equivalency to the Council on Chiropractic Education or their successors and approved by the board and that was based on at least four thousand resident classroom hours. On and after September 8, 1992, Louisiana shall cease to recognize as applicants for licensure persons graduating from schools and colleges with recognized candidate status.

§551. Examination and licensure
An individual, before engaging in the practice of chiropractic in this State, shall make application for a license to practice chiropractic to the board on a form prescribed by the board. The application must be filed with the clerk of the board at least 30 days before the date of examination, together with an application and examination fee. The application fee is not refundable if an application is denied. Each applicant must be at least 18 years of age and present proof of 2 years' satisfactory attendance at a college of liberal arts. A candidate for licensure shall present a transcript from an accredited college or university certifying that the candidate has completed 2 years of preprofessional work, 2 subjects of which must be English and biology, or otherwise satisfy the members of the board that the candidate has acquired sufficient prior academic education. The applicant shall present a diploma granted by a legally chartered chiropractic college, school or university in good standing and having the power to confer degrees in chiropractic, which diploma must show that it was granted on personal attendance of the applicant and completion of a course of 4 school years of not less than 8 months each and of a total of 4,400 60-minute school hours. If an applicant matriculated in a chiropractic college on or after January 1, 1984, the diploma must show that it was granted by a chiropractic college accredited by a chiropractic educational accrediting agency approved by the United States Department of Education or its successor agency or, if no accrediting agency exists, approved by the board, or the applicant must have evidence of having successfully passed a licensing procedure from another state having similar requirements.

Said application shall be filed with the secretary of the board at least thirty days before the date of examination, and shall be accompanied by an examination fee as determined annually by the commissioner of administration under the provision of section three B of chapter seven or, in the case of reexamination, each applicant shall pay a fee as determined under the aforementioned provision for each subject upon which he is reexamined. Each applicant must be at least eighteen years of age and of good moral character, and shall furnish the board with satisfactory proof that he has completed two years in a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in liberal arts or science and that he is a graduate of a chiropractic school or college approved by the board, and which is (1) authorized by its charter to confer the degree of doctor of chiropractic; (2) gives a course of four academic years, comprising a total of four thousand hours, to matriculants possessing the educational qualifications required for graduation from an accredited public high school; and (3) confers such degree only after personal attendance of the applicant therefor at such course, and upon completion thereof.

(1) An applicant for licensure by examination shall submit a completed application, on a form provided by the department, together with the requisite fee. In addition to meeting the requirements of the code and these rules, an applicant for licensure by examination shall meet both of the following provisions: (a) Have graduated from a program or institution of chiropractic that meets the educational standards in R 338.12006 and have final, official transcripts provided to the department from the educational institution.

Section 331.030 Application for license, requirements, fees--reciprocity--rulemaking, procedure
3. Before a person shall be eligible to sit for a practical examination, the applicant shall furnish evidence satisfactory to the board that the applicant has received, prior to entering chiropractic college, a minimum of sixty credit hours, leading to a baccalaureate degree, from a preprofessional college, which credit must be in those subjects, hours and course content as may be provided for by the Council on Chiropractic Education or, in the absence of the Council on Chiropractic Education or its provision for such subjects, hours and course content, as adopted by rule of the board. The examination applicant shall also provide evidence satisfactory to the board of having graduated from a chiropractic college having status with the Commission on Accreditation of the Council on Chiropractic Education or its successor. Any senior student in a chiropractic college having status with the Commission on Accreditation on the Council on Chiropractic Education or its successor, may take a practical examination administered or approved by the board under such requirements and conditions as are adopted by the board by rule, but no license shall be issued until all of the requirements for licensure have been met.

37-12-302. Applications -- qualifications -- fees
(1) A person wishing to practice chiropractic in this state shall make application to the department, on the form and in the manner prescribed by the board, at least 21 days prior to a meeting of the board. Each applicant must be a graduate of or expect to graduate within 90 days prior to the next licensing examination administered by the board from a college of chiropractic approved by the board, in which the applicant has attended a course of study of 4 school years of not less than 9 months each. The applicant shall present evidence showing proof of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Application must be made in writing, must be sworn to by an officer authorized to administer oaths, and must recite the history of applicant's educational qualifications, how long the applicant has studied chiropractic, of what school or college the applicant is a graduate, and the length of time the applicant has been engaged in practice. The application must be accompanied with copies of diplomas and certificates and satisfactory evidence of good character and reputation.
     (2) The applicant shall pay to the department a license fee prescribed by the board. A fee must also be paid for a subsequent examination and application.
     (3) A person who is licensed in another state or who previously graduated from or was enrolled in a chiropractic college accredited by the council on chiropractic education on or before October 1, 1995, is exempt from the bachelor's degree requirement

(b) It shall be the duty of the North Carolina State Board of Chiropractic Examiners (hereinafter referred to as "Board") to examine for licensure to practice chiropractic in this State any applicant who is or will become within 60 days of examination, a graduate of a four-year chiropractic college that is either accredited by the Council on Chiropractic Education or deemed by the Board to be the equivalet of such a college and who furnishes to the Board, in the manner prescribed by the Board, all of the following:
    (1)Satisfactory evidence of good moral character;
    (2)Proof that the applicant has received a baccalaureate degree from a college or university by a regional accreditation body recognized by the United States Department of Education
    (3) Transcript confirming that the applicant has received at least 4,200 hours of accredited chiropractic education. The Board shall not count any hours earned at an institution that was not accredited by the Council on Chiropractic Education or was not, as determined by the Board, the equivalent of such an institution at the time the hours were earned.
(c) The Board shall not issue a license to any applicant until the applicant exhibits a diploma or other proof that the Doctor of Chiropractic degree has been conferred.

4734-1-06 Educational Standards for Board-Approved Chiropractic Colleges
(C) The "Council on Chiropractic Education" designations of full accreditation and recognized candidate for accreditation, shall be deemed as evidence that the school has met the standards required in this rule for board-approved status; however, final approval shall be determined by the board.
(D) Provisional board approval shall be granted to those schools or colleges of chiropractic which were approved by the Ohio state medical board under Chapter 4731. of the Revised Code, as of January 1, 1971, provided the applicant had been enrolled in a full-time continuous course of study prior to March 23, 1976. Final approval shall be determined by the board.
(E) Graduates who have received a diploma from chiropractic colleges approved by this board prior to March 10, 1980, shall furnish proof of having received the educational and clinical training requirements of this rule. After March 10, 1980, no applicant shall be accepted for licensure in this state unless he has graduated from a chiropractic college that has been granted the status of "board-approved school" or "board-approved college" from this board except as otherwise provided for in this rule. If such board approval shall have been granted after the date of the applicant's graduation, the applicant shall be accepted for licensure in this state only upon demonstration to the satisfaction of the board that the educational and clinical training received by the applicant would have substantially fulfilled the requirements of this rule as effective on the date that the college was granted such board approval. An applicant who graduated prior to the date such board approval was granted, and whose educational and/or clinical training was deficient under the terms of this paragraph and who completes further training at a board-approved school or board-approved college so as to fulfill the requirements of this rule as effective on the date that the college was granted such board approval shall be accepted for licensure in this state.
(F) The board may withdraw approval of a chiropractic college at any time if such college is not in compliance with the provisions of the rules of the board and the educational standards for board-approved chiropractic colleges established by the board. Chiropractic colleges that have been granted board-approved status prior to the effective date of this rule shall have one year to comply with the provisions of this rule or the status of board-approved may be withdrawn by the board. If, in the opinion of the board, there is evidence that a chiropractic college having status of board-approved is not in compliance with the rules of the board and the educational standards for board-approved chiropractic colleges established by the board, the board shall issue a warning letter to the chief administrative officer of such college stating that board-approved status may be withdrawn and the reasons for this action. Such letter shall be sent at least ninety days prior to such contemplated action by the board. Reinstatement of the status, "board-approved school" or "board-approved college," may be granted by the board if such college furnishes proof of compliance with the rules of the board and the educational standards for board-approved chiropractic colleges as set forth in this rule.
(G) A chiropractic college (applicant) may apply for the status of "board-approved school" or "board-approved college" by requesting information from the board regarding educational standards for board-approved chiropractic colleges and submitting proof of compliance with the eligibility requirements as established by the board.

140:10-3-1. Application for an original license by examination
(a) An application to the Board for an original license to practice chiropractic shall be made on forms created and approved by the Board and shall be signed and verified under oath by the applicant. The application shall include:
(1) an original, unretouched black and white photograph of the applicant, taken within six (6) months prior to the date of submission of the applicant, showing the applicant’s head and shoulders, front view, which photograph shall be approximately two inches (2"X 2") in size;
(2) the affidavits of two (2) chiropractic physicians who are not related to or under financial obligation to the applicant and which state that the applicant is of good moral character;
(3) a copy of the applicant’s high school diploma, certified as being a true and correct copy;
(4) a copy of the applicant’s pre-chiropractic college or university transcript or transcripts, certified:
(A) by an official of the issuing college or university as being true and correct; and
(B) by an official of the University of Oklahoma as containing at least sixty (60) hours of college credit accepted by the University of Oklahoma;
(5) a copy of the applicant’s diploma from an accredited chiropractic college, certified by and official of the issuing college as being true and correct, except as provided in (b) of this Section;

Section 684.040

Application for license; qualifications; fees. (1) Any person applying for a license to practice chiropractic in this state shall make application to the State Board of Chiropractic Examiners, upon such form and in such manner as may be provided by the board. The application must be accompanied by a nonrefundable fee of $150.
(2) Each applicant shall furnish to the board:
(a) Evidence satisfactory to the board of the applicant’s good moral character.
(b) A certificate of proficiency in the fundamental sciences (Part I, taken subsequent to January 1, 1971) issued to the applicant by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners.
(c) Evidence of successful completion of at least two years of liberal arts and sciences study, in any college or university accredited by either the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges or a like regional association or in any college or university in Oregon approved for granting degrees by the Oregon Student Assistance Commission.
(d) A diploma and transcript, certified by the registrar, or other documents satisfactory to the board evidencing graduation from a chiropractic school or college approved by the board under the board’s academic standards, or from a school accredited by the Council on Chiropractic Education or its successor agency, under standards that are accepted and adopted biennially by the board in the version applied to that school by the accrediting agency.

§ 201.302. Licensing Examination Application
(a) An applicant for a license by examination must present satisfactory evidence to the board that the applicant:
(1) is at least 18 years of age;
(2) is of good moral character;
(3) has completed 60 semester hours of college courses at a school other than a chiropractic school; and
(4) is either a graduate or a final semester student of a bona fide reputable chiropractic school.
(b) An application for examination must be:
(1) made in writing;
(2) verified by affidavit;
(3) filed with the secretary-treasurer of the board on a form prescribed by the board; and
(4) accompanied by a fee.
(c) Each applicant shall be given reasonable notice of the time and place of the examination.

§ 201.303. Educational Requirements
(a) To comply with the requirements of Section 201.302(a)(3), the applicant must submit to the board a transcript of credits that certifies that the applicant has satisfactorily completed 60 or more semester hours of college credits at a college or university that issues credits accepted by The University of Texas at Austin for a bachelor of arts or bachelor of science degree.
(b) The credits required under Subsection (a) include the satisfactory completion of courses in anatomy, physiology, chemistry, bacteriology, pathology, hygiene, and public health. In this subsection, "satisfactory completion" means an average of 75 percent or better in each course.
(c) The board may charge a fee of not more than $50 for verifying that the applicant has satisfied the requirements of this section.
(d) A bona fide reputable chiropractic school that satisfies Section 201.302(a)(4) is one that:
(1) has entrance requirements and a course of instruction as high as those of a better class of chiropractic schools in the United States;
(2) maintains a resident course of instruction equivalent to:
(A) not less than four terms of eight months each; or
(B) not less than the number of semester hours required by The University of Texas for a bachelor of arts or bachelor of science degree;
(3) provides a course of instruction in the fundamental subjects listed in Section 201.305(b); and
(4) has the necessary teaching staff and facilities for proper instruction in all of the fundamental subjects listed in Section 201.305(b).

18 VAC 85-20-122. Educational requirements: Graduates and former students of institutions not approved by an accrediting agency recognized by the board.
A. A graduate of an institution not approved by an accrediting agency recognized by the board shall present documentary evidence that he:
1.   Was enrolled and physically in attendance at the institution's principal site for a minimum of two consecutive years and fulfilled at least half of the degree requirements while enrolled two consecutive academic years at the institution's principal site;
2. Has fulfilled the applicable requirements of § 54.1-2930 of the Code of Virginia.;
3. Has obtained a certificate from the Educational Council of Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG), or its equivalent. Proof of licensure by the board of another State or Territory of the United States or a Province of Canada may be accepted in lieu of ECFMG certification.
4. Has had supervised clinical training as a part of his curriculum in an approved hospital, institution or school of medicine offering an approved residency program in the specialty area for the clinical training received, if such training was received in the United States.
5.    Has completed three years of satisfactory postgraduate training as an intern or resident in a hospital or health care facility offering an approved internship or residency training program when such a program is approved by an accrediting agency recognized by the board for internship and residency.
a. The board may substitute other postgraduate training or study for up to two years of the three-year requirement when such training or study has occurred in the United States or Canada and is:
(1) An approved fellowship program; or
(2)  A position teaching medical students, interns, or residents in a medical school program approved by an accrediting agency recognized by the board for internship and residency training.
b.  The board may substitute continuous full time practice of five years or more with a limited professorial license in Virginia, and one year of postgraduate training in a foreign country, in lieu of three years of postgraduate training.
6. Has received a degree from the institution.

(ii) the Universities Co-ordinating Council is satisfied that the applicant's academic qualifications are substantially equivalent to the degree of Doctor of Chiropractic from an approved faculty of chiropractic, or
(iii) the applicant is a member in good standing of an approved chiropractic professional association in a jurisdiction outside Alberta, and
(b) meets the character and other requirements set out in the regulations.

CHIROPRACTORS ACT [RSBC 1996] CHAPTER 48, Section 10
 
10 (1) Only the persons who produce a certificate of having successfully completed the first year of a recognized Canadian university or its equivalent, and who are duly qualified chiropractors and graduates of a recognized college of chiropractic, are entitled to apply for registration as chiropractors under this Act and become members of the college.

(2) For the purpose of this section a candidate must have attended the recognized college for a minimum of 8 months in each of 4 one year periods.

(3) Before a person is lawfully entitled to register and practise as a chiropractor within British Columbia, the person must take and pass an examination satisfactory to the examining board on the following subjects: chiropractic philosophy, chiropractic technique and practice, neurology, Xray technique and interpretation, anatomy (including histology and embryology), physiology, chemistry, pathology, bacteriology, diagnosis and symptomatology, hygiene and sanitation.

(4) In a written report to the board the examining board must indicate the results of its investigation and examination of each person who applies for registration as a member of the college to practise chiropractic in British Columbia.

(5) If the board is satisfied that an applicant is qualified to practise chiropractic and that he or she is a person of integrity and good moral character, it must, subject to the rules, grant the person a certificate of registration that entitles the person to the rights and privileges conferred by this Act.

(6) Despite the other provisions of this section, the board may, in its discretion, admit to registration and to practice as a chiropractor under this Act any chiropractor who has successfully passed examinations of, or has obtained national registration under, the national examining board of the Canadian Chiropractic Association.

Registration and applicant procedure
Section 5.(2) Applicants seeking licensure under section 9 of the Act must also comply with the following requirements:
(a) that the applicant be 19 years of age and submit proof of being a Canadian citizen, birth certificate, or of being legally entitled to work in Canada with their application;
(b) that the applicant complete an application form and return it to the chairperson of the examining committee with the appropriate application and examination fees as prescribed by the board;
(c) that applications will not be considered for the current examination session if incomplete or if the following is not submitted to the examining committee:
(i) verification of all licences, if applicable,
(ii) 2 suitable recent photographs, passport style,
(iii) official chiropractic college, university and C.C.E.B. transcripts as soon as they become available, and
(iv) 3 letters of reference to be addressed to the board and mailed directly to the examining committee and that committee reserves the right to contact the references if further or specific information is required.
