I had acid reflux so bad for a year that my esophagus stayed inflamed, I was given things by the doctors and told to raise the head of my bed as I would inhale the acid in my sleep and wake up choking! I got tested with the Symptom Survey Analysis, started taking the Standard Process supplements.....

One evening after eating pizza, I had terrible indigestion and a lot of pain in my upper right back. I had this before and after a previous ultrasound, knew I had several gallstones, so I was sure it was my gallbladder acting up again. I figured I had overdone it, so I was careful with what I ate, but a dull pain stayed with me for five more days. I thought it was finally better, but only one day went by without pain....

HbA1c converted to Average Blood Glucose level

If you know your HbA1c value it can be converted to your blood sugar value. Glucose levels fluctuate from minute to minute, hour to hour, and day to day. Thus for hour to hour control, or day to day, a glucose level is the best guide. The HbA1C level changes slowly, over 10 weeks, so it can be used as a 'quality control' test. In diabetes glucoses tend to rise more than usual, dropping with exercise, rising after food, rising a lot more after high glycemic food, and can make it hard to control.

Enter your HbA1c Number and press the calculate button:

is equivalent to an average meter reading of: mg/dL

Mean Blood Glucose (MBG) was determined using HPLC and the Nathan Formula:
HbA1c % X 33.3 ? 86 = MBG mg/dl.

Below are two examples of people who have their HbA1c measured. One is poorly controlled, one well controlled.
A graph of glucose changes over 9 weeks. The glucose (green line) changes between 7-12. This results in an HbA1c level of 10% at the end of the 9 weeks (red line). Poorly controlled.
Here the glucose changes between 5-9. This results in an HbA1c level of 7% at the end of the 9 weeks. Well controlled.
