I had acid reflux so bad for a year that my esophagus stayed inflamed, I was given things by the doctors and told to raise the head of my bed as I would inhale the acid in my sleep and wake up choking! I got tested with the Symptom Survey Analysis, started taking the Standard Process supplements.....

One evening after eating pizza, I had terrible indigestion and a lot of pain in my upper right back. I had this before and after a previous ultrasound, knew I had several gallstones, so I was sure it was my gallbladder acting up again. I figured I had overdone it, so I was careful with what I ate, but a dull pain stayed with me for five more days. I thought it was finally better, but only one day went by without pain....

Food Allergies vs. Food Intolerance

A food allergy is an abnormal response to a food triggered by your body's immune system. Allergic reactions to food can sometimes cause serious illness and death. Tree nuts and peanuts are the leading causes of deadly allergic reactions called anaphylaxis. These reactions produce what is know as IgE antibodies, and, when a person consumes these foods and has a reaction, the reaction is IMMEDIATE.

Food Intolerance

Whereas food allergies produce IgE antibodies, people with food intolerances produce antibodies called IgGs. These antibodies produce what is know as a "delayed hypersensitivity response". Such responses may not occur for days or weeks after ingesting certain foods, so the offending food goes undetected. Many dieticians and nutritionists utilize a "food diary" whereby a person tracks their symptoms when eating foods. The problem with this approach when food inolerances are present is that it can be nearly impossible to find the actual offending foods.

Food intolerances lead to a range of chronic complaints. Traditionally, these have been considered idiopathic, meaning that there is no one specific cause. But food intolerances are now being blamed for a range of small but annoying health problems, which can be divided into five categories:

» Respiratory – rhinitis, sinusitis and asthma

» Musculoskeletal – arthritis, aching and weakness

» Gastrointestinal – vomiting, bloating, cramping, gas, nausea, diarrhoea and colic

» Central nervous system – migraine, headache, mood swings, depression and hyperactivity

» Dermatalogical – hives, eczema and other rashes

Why You Need This Test

Because symptoms may not show up for hours or even days after exposure to an allergen, it is extremely difficult to identify the offending substance(s) without proper testing. With accurate identification, however, allergic sensitivities that cause fatigue can often be treated very effectively. One study found that implementing dietary changes based on existing food allergies produced a complete remission of symptoms in 86% of patients with allergic tension-fatigue.

The Comprehensive Antibody Assessment identifies both immediate (IgE) and delayed hypersensitivities (IgG) to commonly encountered food and environmental substances.

Treatment

Test results come with a personalized treatment plan for food allergy called True Relief™, a medically advanced rotation diet guide. This innovative and flexible guide clearly explains the principles behind food allergies, rotation diet, elimination and reintroduction of foods, and allows patients to see at a glance what their problem foods and dietary choices are.
